CCDP Core Values

Vision:

To elect candidates to office at all levels of government who support the values of

the Calhoun County Democratic Party.

Mission:

To grow a broad representative base of committed and engaged voters,

volunteers, community leaders, and elected officials who work together across

Calhoun County to champion policies and programs that reflect our values. We

commit to live these values through our work together and our support of others.

Values:

We understand what is at stake in every election. Our right to life, liberty and the pursuit

of happiness will depend on who we elect to offices across the country and our

personal freedoms may be at risk. Civility and respect for others must be reinstated into

politics.It is important that we know the issues, have the facts, and vote our values. We

believe:

● All people are created equal regardless of race, religion, wealth, politics,

sexuality, gender identity, or country of birth, and deserve respect and due

process.

● The U.S. and State of Michigan Constitutions and the rule of law must be fairly

applied to all.

● Free and fair elections where ALL eligible voters can vote and their vote counts.

● Our neighbors deserve to live, work, play, and worship in safe communities.

● The economy must serve everyone, expand opportunity, reward work with

dignity, remove systemic barriers, and ensure that prosperity is shared

● All families are the building block of our society and must be supported through

education and opportunity.

● Health care and reproductive freedom are human rights.

● Leaving a healthy planet for future generations is essential and requires

addressing climate change and prioritizing clean air and water.
